May 2010 - Math Level 2

well that’s -8 then -0.75 guessing penalty so 41.25 which is like 780

I did something similar I omitted 5 (cause I didn’t finish LOL) and missed like 4 so I’m at 40 raw which is like 770

How confident did you feel about the guesses? If they’re right it’s an 800

41.25 is seriously 780?! are you sure??

i omitted six, thinking i got like 4-5 wrong, what would that give me?

the curve is ususually an 44=800.

so use this formula 800-(44-r)

r=your raw score out of 50 after the subraction of .25 for wrong answers.

Like a 750

I took a 44 = 800 practice test and it was easier so I’m doing it based on 43 = 800

I currently have exactly 44… :(

can we get a consolidated answer key?

I remember an easy question, which I believe was #2. j = x^2, and you had to find x^4-(something)x^2 + something. in terms of j.

it was (A) j^2-4j+5 or something

It definitely wasn’t A…

was like x^4 - 4x^2 + something and j = x^2
so it ended up being J^2 - 4j + something… just plug in j

do you ABSOLUTELY need a graphing calculator for the test?
i have one, but i’m not too comfortable using it.

Well it’s called math IIC for a reason (II = level 2, C = CALCULATOR)…
I guess theoretically you could if you’re a math prodigy…

gniXru, it helps…a ton
But, no. A scientific should be the only thing you need (for logs and stuff) but learn how to use a TI-84. It will be helpful.

do you ABSOLUTELY need a graphing calculator for the test?

^
For some questions yes.

I believe it was B…not sure. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t A, tho.
@ gniXru: Yes. Without it, you probably cant solve 5~10 (or more) questions at all, even with a scientific one.

the last question wasn’t as hard at it looked at first

so anyone up for a consolidated answer key? Let’s start with a question at a time, people just copy and paste answers that were verified as correct.

The prime number one was the one with the exponents, 3,6,9 right? I believe it was letter B in the test.

Also, what is a raw score of 43?

Sigh. So looks like I missed 2 (which means I prbly missed like 4 or 5) and omitted the law of cosines problem bc it’s been 3 years since I learned it  didn’t know we’d b expected to know that…so approx. What does that put me at?
