May 2012 Writing Discussion

i put in particular

Can anyone list the writing experimental they had other than the polls ?

If it had been up to my sisters and “I”

“I” is correct, right? Was it NE?

It would have to be “me.” Imagine this: say instead, “if it had been up to I.” That’s definitely incorrect.

I had a writing Experimental about people living in sanitary conditions which actually makes them more succeptible to allergens and stuff

In improving paragraphs did you guys put that sentence (libraries one)? I think I put it after sentence 8.

After 8, yeah totally!

@blankk, I did so too.

i put after sentence 14… i felt like it didnt fit in any of the other ones o.O
sentence 8 was in the second body paragraph btw

also before the passage i neraly put 3 ne’s in a row, but i put two ne’s and for the third one i think i put choice C, because it was something along the lines of “economy is stable and will continue to do so” (* is underlined portion) i thought the “to do so” should be “continue to BE so” since stable is an adjective
anyone else catch this?

hi guys
do you guys remember one of the error detection that talks about fireflies?
it said something like

@$^&%$# abdomen is a mass of @#$%^ where oxygen combines with lum$#% to produce glow

or something
what was the answer?
i thought it was either no error or ‘to produce’
D:

No error was correct for that one, I believe. The one before it, however, had to be correct of to become imperfective.

Did any of you guys find one with an error where it said “would” instead of “will”

I said no error on fireflies. Hellohyein, which one did you settle on?

3 No errors in total.

I think the only contentious topic in writing was “in particular” question.

ughh Wait, What was the Fireflies one? I cant recall it;;

was the would vs will the kayak question because the error in that was an adverb. particular should have been particularly

or is it the one about the girl picking a career.

What was the answer to Amy Tan pursuing a medical career?
Was it would pursue, will pursue, had pursued, pursuing…?

For the last question in the paragraph portion about the librarians, what sentence was the phrase supposed to be put after (I think it was something like “These librarians, moreover, knew that original copies had information not seen in electronic and print copies”)

I got stuck between after sentence 11 and after 14 and ended up with 11

hahah i wrote about how homer beat marge into a coma, ron cheated on hermione, and douglas macarthur killed george washington. the best part is they can’t fact-check me.

I answered sentence 11 too
