May have to drop a pre-req, try again next quarter?

Alright, so I'll save you all the sob-story and just say the beginning of this quarter has been quite hectic, due to multiple personal reasons.

This has, unfortunately, had an effect on my study patterns and such. I'm currently taking 15 units in addition to an internship at NASA. The only class which has been affected is my calculus 1b course. Despite studying this entire weekend, I just took the first midterm today (20% of the grade), and I'm almost certain that I failed it, put simply. I have till the end of the week to drop without a W, but it puts me in an awkward position for a few reasons:

Obviously it's a major pre-req.

It will mess up my ed. plan that I submitted to UCs (which we can still update, even though I submitted the Transfer App Update, right?)

The classes I was planning on taking next quarter are a part of IGETC.

Basically, I think I could wait till I see how bad the damage is, then consult with my teacher as to what she thinks I could do.

I'm thinking perhaps drop and take it next quarter, and bump one of the IGETC requirements to Summer? Can I still get IGETC certification if I take a class in summer? Or should I not plan on doing the Computer Science pre-req for Irvine and hope they take me without it? I would think that the IGETC cert. would be more important than the pre-req.

If anyone could give me some advice, I would appreciate it a lot! Right now I have a 3.73 GPA so I'm hoping I could still look good to Irvine or Davis, or SD for Econ. I don't expect CAL/LA at all.

Thanks!

for berk atleast, they actually let you do your pre-reqs in the summer but NOT your igetc requirements.

I don’t think you can get IGETC certified if you take it over the summer. When you get into a school, you are supposed to mail your transcripts by July15th. With the transcripts, you do the whole IGETC cert thing. You can’t get credit for IGETC till you finish the course, and your summer course won’t be finished by then.
