@Milkana: are you sure the Qs you mentioned are not from the experimental section?? i just can not remember them!

seriously guys - how can edible be the mistake. either something is edible or its not, it cant be “more” edible

I understand that the SAT may test whether or not certain words, such as “better,” can be used in a particular comparison. However, I don’t believe that the Writing section would test the proper comparative usage of a term like “edible,” which is basically what the No Error argument comes down to. The dictionary definition of the word “edible” is “Fit to be eaten,” and one could argue that implies a binary positive or negative result, edible or not edible. But then again, the dictionary definition of the word “usable” is “Able or fit to be used.” Surely one could argue that something is either usable or not usable, but I don’t believe that anyone can argue that the word “usable” is incomparable. Just as one object can be more usable than other, so can one lemon be more edible than another. Still, this does not feel like something that the SAT would test.

Bleh, it seems I got one wrong.
What would -2 and an 11 essay give me, given that’s what I feel like is the best I could have gotten?

@FluffyPinkCloud
You did real good
think you definitely got 720

Is there any way I could get a 10 essay writing about 1.25 pages (assuming my writing is good). I just ran out of time because I went more slowly than usual. God I hate the SAT essay. Just because of that one 25 minute period, I’m going to have retake this 4 hour+ hell.

does anyone remember “readers who are familiar with the writer’s style were not surprised to find that he adopted a similar stylle in his articles” …or something like that…i answered it E

@safieldeen i can’t remember it clearly…Are you sure it is not a question from the experimental section???

And aslo i think it should be “readers who were familiar” instead of “readers who are familiar”

no it’s not from the experimental section…i am asking about the “adopted a similar style in his” part…is it adopted in or adopted for.

@safieldeen “adopt” in this sentence is probably a vt verb. This means that neither adopt in nor adopt for is right. It should be adopt+noun.

What’s the original sentence?? the underlined word is adoped or adoped in or adoped for??

Anyone else ace this?

800 (79, 11)

^ yup got an 800 (76,11). I guess i got lucky with the curve.

It’s gonna drive me crazy which one I got wrong. And my essay was two full pages with 4 four examples. Deserved a 12 :p

^haha an 800 is an 800 even though your essay was probably much better than mine and you answered more mc correctly. What did you get on your SAT overall?

800 (80/10) - SOOOOO happy

Is it possible to get your essay re-looked at?
I got a 6 but I can’t believe it…

Overall my superscore is a 2200 but on this one I also got 730 CR and 650 M

@joshmay94: I aced this section. 800 (79 MC 12 Essay). I used only 2 examples with a made up book by a made up author, and a made up personal example. I didn’t use big words. I made my essay fun (I think) to read, and I used short and long sentences.

@JBCHUN I doubt that they’ll re-look your essay but you probably didn’t deserve a 6. What did you write about, and did you fill up the space? @Newton I used barron’s writing workbook and went through that, but I think if you learn all of the rules that collegeboard uses from any source, you will find the improving sentences to be extremely easy.

Got an 800 (79 mc/10) woo! (somehow that score makes sense?)
I think curve was generous. I can’t believe some of you were saying the writing was easier than normal. I knew it felt harder (and this isn’t just hindsight bias, I expressed this before scores came out!)

Needless to say very happy that my barely-over-one-page essay got a 10, and my score went up from jan (650- 8 essay with an mc that was 67-69, dont remember).
