May SAT II Biology E/M

I took M and actually found it pretty easy… I guessed flat out on one-- the tree growth question. I know what the right answer is but I don’t remember what I put down! haha I’d probably estimate ~750 but possibly better ???
^

I had no idea about that. I guessed as well

I put A for the ear one also. (Something about a specific membrane vibrating to the sounds)
I knew that the cochlea doesn’t vibrate – the cillia in it do, so I eliminated it.
It wouldn’t seem right for the something membrane to only send impulses when stimulated to a certain pitch, and I eliminated that one also.
I took a semi-blind guess and got A…

What was the female reproductive organ answer?
Was it that menstrulation and ovulation overlap?

: for the carrot question, I think I chose E because it talked about the temperature :S

for that one i said the egg fertilizes in the fallopian tubes, not sure if that’s right though
and did you guys but 0.9 for the tree growth one?

“for that one i said the egg fertilizes in the fallopian tubes, not sure if that’s right though”

that’s what I put. I was pretty sure that it was right because think about it, menstruation happens after the egg has ovulated and been unsuccessful to be fertilized

I can’t believe I didn’t read that the carrots were in black bags. x.x

For the female reproductive system, I think it was that ova are usually fertilized in the fallopian tubes. Another of the choices said “the vaginal lining deteriorates once a cycle”, which is wrong, it’s the uterine lining. And I’m pretty sure ovulation marks a new phase, it isn’t considered menstruation any more.

For tree growth I put 0.9 because trees grow from their branch tips… it was kind of confusing though because they threw a bunch of other numbers at you and I didn’t know if I was falling into a trap.

I just googled the egg question.
And it indeed does fertilize in the fallopian tube. Argh, I remember seeing the same question in my Barron’s book, and it said that the egg fertilizes somewhere else.
I dunno. DANGIT

My AP Bio teacher hit that point (fertilization in oviduct) pretty hard, so I’m thankful for him. And yeah 0.9 was the right answer according to him, I either put that or 6. I can’t remember haha. I sure do hope i put 0.9. 0.9 was E right??? if so I probably put it

Wait, what was the tree question about??

what were the answers to the neuron/synpase/receptor questions in earthworms? I believe there were 4 questions on it.

and also, what were the answers to the cell division/organogenesis questions? It was like this plant that grew under certain conditions: auxin+ and this other hormone.

The neuron thing was pretty easy, you just had to follow the arrows.

the tree question was

a tree is 6 meters tall. a branch falls off and leaves a mark .9 meters from the ground. after however many years (i forgot the number) the tree is 36 feet tall. how far is the mark from the ground now?

and also, what were the answers to the cell division/organogenesis questions? It was like this plant that grew under certain conditions: auxin+ and this other hormone.

^
I said auxin only was cell enlargement.
and that the disease resembled cancer.
and that it was an angiosperm.

was the question about 54 40 settling the US-Canada border?

SORRY WRONG THREAD!
i got my tabs mixed up T__T

SORRY WRONG THREAD!
i got my tabs mixed up T__T

^ I was going to say…I don’t remember a question like that XD

The cell was from a flowering plant. (in the auxin and kenesine? question)
In the intro, it said that the cell was extracted from an embryo from a fruit.
Only flowering plants have fruits.

so for the neuron one did you get A, if neuron n did not work, skin 1 will not receive stimulus? (forgot the exact wording)

and another one that was z,x,y,w,t,etc. (the longest answer?)

no it was that muscle 1 will not receive stimulus

and it wasnt the longest answer for that one

I’m pretty sure all the ones where you listed letters were just three.
