Hmmm…I’m debating between Barrons and Princeton Review.

I already have Cliffs (for AP Bio)…

Any recommendations?

Is th SAT II easier or harder than AP Bio ?? and how important are SAT IIs for getting accepted?

^ Definitely a lot easier.

I used Cliffs APBiology.

Excellent book. I just made a lot of STUPID mistakes… >< ><

I know it really depends on one’s preference, but what is the general consensus regarding the easiness of the two different types of this subject test: molecular and ecology?

If i did well on AP bio a few days ago do i need to restudy for SAT II?

Hey does anyone remeber the answer to…i think it was which gives off the most energy, fats, cellulose, or starch…it was fats? can someone tell me why please

Lipids give off something like 38 kilojoules per gram, proteins and carbohydrates release less than half of that.

g fat = 9 calories
g protein or carb = 4 calories

7th grade Foods class

ohhh yea

Cellulose doesn’t give off energy for humans since we can’t digest it. The answer would be lipids since they give off 9 kcal/g.

runningonempty, i too am debating between princeton ([Amazon.com: Cracking the SAT Biology E/M Subject Test, 2007-2008 Edition (College Test Preparation) (9780375765889): Princeton Review: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Cracking-Biology-Subject-2007-2008-Preparation/dp/0375765883/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top)) and barrons ([Amazon.com: How to Prepare for the SAT II Biology E/M (9780764117886): Maurice Bleifeld: Books](http://www.amazon.com/How-Prepare-SAT-II-Biology/dp/0764117882/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1274149100&sr=1-5)). Please do let me know which one you have picked…I plan on getting the PR one. I would appreciate it if you could send me the link to the books you are considering runningonempty. Thanks!

^ I ordered Barron’s a while ago. I should be getting it tomorrow. My school has a copy of the Princeton Review albeit a much older edition, but I’m probably gonna borrow it sooner or later.

This is the one I ordered: [Amazon.com: SAT Subject Test Biology E/M (Barron’s: the Leader in Test Preparation) (9780764142031): Deborah T.…](http://www.amazon.com/SAT-Subject-Test-Biology-Barrons/dp/0764142038/ref=dp_cp_ob_b_title_0)

BioBoy, the barrons in your link has the old cover. I believe the above poster has the link to the new version.

Most people would say that molecular is easier but I personally felt ecology was my forte.

Haha I used the 2007 Barron’s book to study

Still got an 800

I took Ecology :x I didn’t even look at molecular lol. Just plowed through the test xD

alright embargo lifted. interestingly enough, the test today was the same test you guys took. need some help with the E section. for the birch, beech, and oak lab, what was the answer for the leaf area? was it
1000 leaf area
or
3000 leaf area

also the question right after that,
what does the graph say about the ecological succession.
i guessed that later succession trees undergo photosynthesis faster.

wait, i have a question, is Bio E/M one test??
I always thought you could choose either E or M. I took APES last year and got a 5, so I was planning on taking E, but I took honors bio two years ago, so I definitely can’t do M.
do you have to do both??

@saman42, yeah you only choose one. in the total of 80 questions, 60 are general questions and 20 are more on ecology or molecular. you choose one section

Why bump a year old thread?.

cause i need to get some answers X
