<p>SOOOOo.....Maybe not the best time to be coming out with this little thread here, but, better now than never I suppose!</p>
<p>Basically, I applied to a few of the UC's as a language major and now I'm not sure if I want to major in that language because I don't feel like I'm at a very good level (despite being in level 4 of the language).</p>
<p>What should I do? I am pretty confused and I was panicking when November rolled around b/c I knew I'd have to pick something. But the indecision hasn't left the building lol.</p>
<p>I was in the same boat. See which school you for sure want to go to, and see their change of major thing.</p>
<p>I did mine right through <a href=“mailto:myadmissions@uci”>myadmissions@uci</a>. processed in a week. You can also change your major at orientation.</p>
<p>I’m in the same boat, I was struggling between Electrical and Computer Engineering and went with Computer but now I realize I would rather do more hardware stuff and less programming so I want to switch to Electrical.</p>
<p>I’m kind of lost on what to do, I haven’t been accepted anywhere yet so should I try to change my requested major NOW or wait till I (hopefully) get accepted and then try to change it then? I applied to UCSD, UCSB and UCD as Comp E, UCLA I applied as EE so I don’t need to do anything there.</p>
<p>I plan on changing my major, as well. I applied to UCSD, SB, LA, and Berkeley as an anthropology major (been accepted to SD and SB thus far.) </p>
<p>I’ve been looking at the upper division courses at all the schools for anthro, and I realized that I no longer have the desire to study it any more. So, I’ve decided on sociology. I realize how impacted UCLA sociology is, and my friends who go there told me I’d have to petition and blah blah blah, but that’s alright because it’s not my first choice anyway. </p>
<p>At the beautiful UCSD, however, it’s just a click of a button online, and you’re in (I’m so glad it’s not impacted there!) Hooray! So, once I hear back from all the schools and make my decision (can you guess which school I’m leaning toward?) I plan to make the switch!</p>
<p>I’ve been in this dilemma for almost 2 months already and I might actually change my major from history to biology/toxicology. I was just re-thinking my career goals in the future and I’m heavily leaning towards the medical field, primarily physical therapy. This means staying at CC for another 2 years but I know it’s the best decision for me, both financially and career-wise. Plus my IGETC is all done so all have to worry about are the science pre-reqs, plus I can also continuing working at my old job as well. This economy sucks as well so hopefully the job market will be different by the time I graduate. Many of my friends who graduated last year STILL can’t find jobs in their respective fields.</p>
<p>I had to change my major because I dropped out of Calc II. UCSD lets you change your major right away. UCD makes you enroll for a quarter at the school and then you can change your major. That’s all I know.</p>
<p>@ evan: You can switch from anthro to sociology at Berkeley with no issues pending you have a 3.2+ and most of the prereqs done/IP for sociology. :)</p>

i know how you felt tho…i always said Sociology was my mistress. but id never go that far to… actually switch!</p>
