It's kind of embarrassing for a university to have used the incorrect "then/than" on their website.

One of you guys should contact them.

USC Financial Aid

Under Transfer Merit Scholarships

"Last year's recipients had an average GPA above 3.7 and had completed more then 30 transferable units at the time their applications were submitted."

Either you can't read or the people at USC read CC, because it clearly says "than" now.

awelex- Maybe someone actually called, haha. :)

Not just USC. Other top colleges do have this problem also, it was written in the news.

OP was correct - I remember noticing that too. FWIW, it was a much less glaring error than the one contained in the condolences letter Yale sent to its alums after rejecting their children this year :)

Nick, thank you for alerting USC of this error. USC apparently did fix the mistake.

@FauxMom: oh come on, now you NEED to tell us what mistake that was! :D

Darn, we tossed the letter and I can't remember what it said. Nothing horrifying - just a really obvious editing error that made one doubt the well-oiled machine that tries to keep Yale alums happy and loyal. Nobody's perfect, but that can be rather unsettling to the grammar police among us ;)
