McGill Admissions!!!!

Thank you very much KeyofH! Where else did your D apply?

She applied to:
Northwestern
Maryland U.
University of Miami
Westminster Choir College
University of North Texas
Indiana University

She was accepted everywhere except Northwestern

Congratulations to all of your children - what a great school to be accepted into!

Wow...that is great! Northwestern seems to be one of the most difficult schools to get into! I know how that rejection feels! Where does your D think she wants to go?

Ilovetheflute: Thank you for your Wow . When D figures out where she wants to go, she will tell herself. Then she will tell me. I'll confirm it. Then I will let you know. But I'm not holding my breadth.

In other words, I think she's going to take her time. Last night McGill also sent out emails? Did you get one? Maybe you should call if you didn't. Good luck!

Do you know if they sent out emails to everyone because I did not get one...I am freaking out! haha

Hi Ilovetheflute: I'm sorry -- I just don't know. I can understand how you feel and would suggest that you call the admissions office first thing Monday morning. I wish you the best of luck and will keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you KeyofH...I plan to call them monday :) I will keep you informed

Ilovetheflute: I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks! I was wondering if your D was offered a scholarship?

Just out of curiosity, are classes taught in French at McGill ?

If I recall when we were looking, the classes were taught en Englais.

I know for a fact that all of the classes are taught in English, except (probably) the French language classes.

: )

However, Montreal is very much a French-language city and a lot of commerce, i.e. the shops, cabs, etc. is conducted in francais! For people who like to practice their French, it is a wonderful place to do so.

Hi ILovetheFlute: You asked about a scholarship offer at McGill. Our daughter has not gotten one. We didn't apply for one either; and I am not even sure how to do it. Since she was not that interested in going there, we didn't pursue it. Perhaps, you can tell me -- did you apply or is it automatic consideration as it is in so many American schools?

I did not apply for one because I could not. I did not audition live so I was not eligible. I just wanted to see if maybe that is why you have received an admission decision :)
