Mcgill Class of 2018

@sabdegs

Did you submit your 2nd semester report becuz they requested it? Or did you just update your transcript from the original trnascript request?

Did your status change at all from “ready to review” or it stayed like that?

Actually I have the same problem. Mine says Further Review Required, and I sent in my midterm report card almost two weeks ago. Anyone have a clue? I assume they just haven’t got to it again, but is there something I’m missing? Thanks!

@starr8nn they requested them, and i’m not sure because the next time i checked it after i uploaded them was when they emailed me that they had already made a decision and it said “Admitted Pending Final Results”- sorry i cant help! best of luck

Has anyones status changed from “reviewed-decision pending” to admitted? mines been like that for two weeks now!

@RCLVRR no, my status has been reviewed-decision pending for almost 5 weeks, it is stressing me out… What faculty are you applying to?

@ehtaga96 I applied to commerce and science and I haven’t heard back from either! It’s really stressful. I’ve been checking like twice per day to see if anything updates but nothing has happened. What did u apply to?

Ugh I’m still waiting. How are my chances?

Objective: Arts and Management

I’m studying at a US High School. Freshman and sophomore year at a prestigious private school (Obama’s daughters go there) that had relatively deflated grades, much like McGill. Sophomore year GPA was 3.43 both semesters. Transferred to a public school junior year and went 3.85 first semester, 4.0 second semester. First semester senior year was 3.85. Wondering how this trendline will be perceived.

If anyone can help calm my nerves or otherwise give me an accurate expectation that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think you’re going to get in - great scores and your grades had a strong upward trend.

Thanks! Well that’s promising. Do you think they’ll see that I switched schools?

Of course - didn’t you send transcripts from the different schools? Or if not, your current school transcript would indicate that some of the earlier grades were completed elsewhere,

It says that those grades weren’t received from the school system, though I indicated in the online application form that I previously attended Sidwell Friends School.

I applied to science too… I that program is one of the hardest @RCLVRR

Have you heard back? Two of my friends got into science within two days.

@ehtaga96 great haha. my top choice is commerce tho so hopefully ill get into that.

@Armaanb, I’m in the same situation. I’m an IB student from Taiwan, I uploaded my first semester grades two weeks ago and my status still says “further review required”…

I am so incredibly worried about McGill. It is my #1 choice and has been for years. I’m an American high school student. I applied to Arts. What are my chances? I’ve had “Reviewed, Decision Pending” for a good while now. I check Minerva every day and just want to find out gah.

GPA - 3.6
ACT - 29 composite
Class rank - N/A
Senior course load - AP Environmental Science, AP Literature, AP French, AP Micro Econ, P.E, Pre-Calc, Choir

Hey everyone! McGill is my #1 choice so I was so excited to be accepted!!! I am from the US but have my Canadian citizenship (I’m not sure how big of a role this played in my acceptance). My freshman and sophomore year I was at my public high school where rigor is not too high so I skipped a grade. For my junior and senior years I have been taking all of my courses at the University of Minnesota so my High School transcript is full of University courses!

Bachelors of Arts and Sciences
GPA (unweighted): 3.98
ACT: 32
Class Rank: 3/260
No IB exams, 1 AP Microeconomics exam that I took freshman year and got a 3 on (McGIll didn’t have the score of before they accepted me)

Nothing about Financial Aid or Scholarships yet…
Can’t wait to hopefully meet some of you next fall!!

Feel free to message me with any questions :)

Just got my acceptance from McGill!! So excited but not sure I can attend until I get a reply regarding my financial aid application and my major entrance scholarship.

Got into both Arts Faculty as well as the Interfaculty BA/BSc program

GPA: We don’t have GPAs here but I have consistently scored between (87.5% - 91%) in all my high school grades (9-12). My class rank is in the top 5-10%.

Nationality: Indian

I got an email from McGill saying that my admission status had been updated. I then checked the actual decision by logging into the Minerva system. I know the pressure of waiting is really horrible and really hope you guys get a decision soon.

My status for Mcgill is ‘Further Review Required’ and it has been that for quite some time now. I sent in my High School Transcripts in the second week of January and still the status is the same. Any idea why are they taking soo long ?
