McGill Decisions Class of 2021 (entering 2017)

@nuttyprofessor
Did you call them just to check up on your application?
Would you advise us to call them about our application if we have been waiting for a long time/ or been on reviewed decision pending for 2.5 months…?
By the way congrats on getting an answer after waiting so long!! :slight_smile:

@clemeverst, thank you! Well, I called them a few times because I have an April deadline I have to meet and I was mildly freaking out this entire month, but no one was able to help me or reassure me over the phone. I definitely would not recommend calling or contacting them, as much as I love the school, their admissions department has the worst customer service of any school I have heard of. They will not help you or even acknowledge your concerns; to them, admissions is entirely standardised and beyond the capacity of the students. I would advise you to wait, unfortunately, as the process itself is unpredictable and irritating but hey, life’s a give and take. Good luck everyone!

Are those who are still waiting close to the minimum requirements?

@TomSrOfBoston I am

@TomSrOfBoston I don’t really know how “close” I am. I have a 31 ACT and a 3.87 GPA, with over a straight A average (with some A+) for the past two years (Applied to faculty of arts and interfacutly, sciences and arts)

I don’t think they do admissions in order of achievement, from what I’ve seen so far, it has been a little bit random.

@nuttyprofessor thanks for your answer!

Anybody here waitlisted?

Hey everyone…I applied in October, but my mid year information wasn’t sent until mid-February. I’ve been categorized as “Reviewed- Decision Pending” for over a month now. I’m a little bit frustrated and nervous with no knowledge as to when my decision will be posted–especially because U.S. schools need commitment by May 1 and McGill may not get back to me until mid May. Has anyone ever had to wait that long to get his/her decision?

@eightiessinger98, I do know that decisions can occasionally roll into May but there really is no way to tell. “Reviewed- Decision Pending” is the closest thing to a waitlist at McGill and usually entails waiting until later in the admissions process. If I were you, I would explore and consider other options until then.

I’m an international and had applied late December. I’m still on “ready for review”. Does that mean they haven’t even seen my application yet?
Would it help to call them about this?
Also, when do you think I might hear

@eightiessinger98 Hi! I’ve been in the same boat as you are! I applied early October and have been on Reviewed- Decision Pending since mid January ( yes that’s 2 and a half months…) and waited for a decision since then. I also live in the US ( not American though) and understand the struggle of waiting. There is unfortunately no definite date or “waiting time”… The only thing you can do now is checking regularly your application status. I’ll keep you up to date the moment I hear back from them! Good luck :slight_smile:

Okay, so I just got waitlisted for BofArts and refused for BofCommerce, so I guess it’s time to commit to one of my other options because who knows how long it will take until I get an actual acceptance/refusal. Does anyone have any clue as to when waitlist decisions will end? June? Even later?

What were your stats, if you dont mind me asking?

@eightiessinger98 could you post your stats? Desautels has become very competitive the past couple of years.

D waitlisted for B Commerce today with w 4.05 GPA and 32 composite ACT.

@Husky1,2 Wow! Is that GPA unweighted?

@TomSrOfBoston no that is weighted. There were extenuating circumstances tho and her GPA was much higher jr and senior years than overall.

4.0 GPA and 29 ACT, IB diploma candidate with plenty of other honors courses and extracurriculars

What were your IB predicted scores/mock scores
