McGill!!

what about my chances for McGill?

SAT: 1500 (780M, 720V)
Writing: 740
Math IIc: 740
Biology: 660
gpa: 3.3/3.9w (this is what kills me...)

i sent in my transcript and sat scores. So all I have to do now is pay for the app, and then just wait for the letter, right?

Hi guys,

what is up?
hope u enjoyed xmas:)
I'm currently a student at a major canadian university and I would like to transfer to Mcgill University.
I currently have a 3.7/4.3 gpa.
Is that feasible?
I would like to transfer to the faculty of management:=)

Thx guyz!

Hi guys, happy holidays to all :)

buggzz--I don't believe that the SAT is required, or if it is, it is only required by those studying from the US system. if you're doing Canadian system or british system, then I don't think that the SATs are required. However, don't take my word on it--get McGill's confirmation on that.

boo12345--Your stats are stellar except for your GPA. If not for that, I'd say you'd be a definite admit. Even as it is, you have an excellent chance of getting in, especially if your class rank is good.

MHalberstran--out of curiosity, what university are you looking to transfer from and why? (just trying to build my own knowledge of other canadian universities), your stats look great and i'd say you have a good chance of being accepted as a transfer.

Best of luck to everyone :) deadline fast approaching for those apps--if you haven't done it already, get your McGill app in before the night of the 14th ;)

noelle

Hello :)

Haha no worries.
I'm originally from Universite de Montreal and transferred to University of British Columbia :=)
Why do I want to transfer?well, just want to get back to Montreal and also because McGill Management has a good marketing program. However, I heard John Molson (Concordia) is actually more complete.
I just hope I can get in:=) (Yeah I failed a couple courses but retook them and aced them lool;))
So how do you like McGill?

thx for reply harpgirl..
one last thing, plz tell me if my chances are good in gettin admission

Olevels 4 As 2 Bs
AS level 1 A 3 B
A levels predicted 4 As
Toefl 283
Class GPA 3.7 (therz no weighting system here)

ECs are great, also president of student council for the current year..

im very unsure abt getting in.. coz of the average GPA..altho cambridge results are pretty decent..
i wonder how they count the As and the Bs of british system,

hey everyone!
i'm an international student from singapore and also applied to mcgill for fall 2005..
MHalberstram, i'm also applying for management.. i know that as far as business schools go, mcgill is not as good as schulich at york or western's ivey.. but i'm still confident that the mcgill name is far more recognised than those other schools.. does anyone here know anything about mcgill management?
btw i'm under the british a level system and my stats for 3 A level subjects are two B's and one A.. and i got an A1 for general paper... my SAT 1 although not required is 1340.. anyone know of my chances?

anybody do IB here?
and i've given up checkin the mcgill app site/minerva thingy... i've set the day of spring break as they day i ever click that link again

i do IB. i've heard that you have to send mcgill all your predicted exam scores, and they have to be atleast 5s. anyone know anything about this?

yes mos def
but that doesn't happen until after ur mocks i think then basicly ur skul tells every1 ur predicted grades (that u ask them to of course) because the skuls av no other way of knowing if u'll get ur diploma/certificates 'til later
1 thing im not sure tho is if they predict "extra points" cuz i haven't finished my EE yet oops!

we don't do mocks at my school... and who actually send the predicted scores to mcgill? i dont understand how this system works.

really? so when do u practice for ur real ib tests then? anyway ur teachers have a way of predicting you a grade and the universities ask for that as a basis for admission sometimes then when ur finals come out they make a decisive over or else their provisional offer becomes a no thank you

hmm. i guess it varies for each course, but we ususally just take chunks of practice tests as the real exams approach. i think our teachers might use course work as an indicator of what our scores will be. it seems to work pretty well.

k dat shud work
wut subjects u takin sl n hl?
im doin physics n methods sl of course (they don't offer physics hl at my skul n the math teacher is deplorable so i wudnt cope wid hl math- n that makes me look like im more artsy than sciency which im not! i wana be a friggin air force pilot lol)
then euro history, geography, english a1 n french a2 hl

pimpcess05 , dude, you need to speak in a mre proper way. im sure if it was spoken, i could understand you perfectly, but such is not the case.

alright then
on msn most people understand!
oh well
what do you want me to repeat?/clarify?

eh, its not terribly important, just for the future, i dont do IB, so i dont care that much, but in the future you may ask a question of have information more pertinent to me.

i'm doing english a1 hl, bio hl, history of the americas hl, math studies sl (a joke, i know), french sl (wish i had done this hl instead...), and german sl

I finished my A-level last year, and intend to apply for Mc.Gill. Does anyone know mc.gill has financial aid policy for international students?

pamplemousse which french? a1 a2 b? ab initio? lol im thinkin its a2 no?

apparently it's b, but no one tells us this stuff at my school.
