McGill?

Hey everyone... I'm currently trying to decide between Winnipeg and McGill. If any of you are Canadian, you probably know that McGill is a highly respected university, but had a problem with large class sizes and dodgy teachers. Winnipeg, on the other hand, is a highly ranked undergraduate institution with small classes and close teachers. I am hesitant to make my decision because I know that attending McGill will probably make it easier for me to get into grad school. McGill also has much higher school spirit and many more students involved in school functions. Another issue is that McGill has courted me, while Winnipeg has been generally indifferent. (This may seem arrogant to say, but it proves an important point: McGill wants high-level students at their school. Being surrounded by such people would be beneficial, especially if Winnipeg has no regard for such things.) So there are advantages and disadvantages to both...

What would you pick, and why?

Personally, it was an- "I'm ready for the real thing..." attitude that drew me to McGill. I picked it over another top undergrad school simply because I wanted to "test" myself and my limits

i've got a friend going to mcgill next year - his twin sisters are already there and love it

i heard McGill is horrific, if you aren't from quebec, i hear you get 2nd priority in course selection and stuff.... not 100% sure...

i think you heard wrong since mc gill has a huge intl. population, and giving all those people lower priority would cause intl's to not take interest in the university...yet international enrollment is increasing...
