Meal Plans Confuse Me

So if, hypothetically, I had 300 BRBs left at the end of the year, I should go spurge?

yes!

That's when I do the food shopping for my parents for once :-)

haha then what do you buy them? $300 worth or cornell ice cream? lol

I never had problems spending my BRB's but at the end of each year you always see people cleaning the various on-campus convenience stores out in an effort to spend $300 in two weeks.

nah....lots of snack foods/drinks/gum....it's amazing the stuff you can buy at the end of the semester.

At my old college...the sold cases of salsa and peanut butter

haha now im glad that i only have $35 left to spend....and thats going to my all nighter coffee fund next week :|

I've got $274 left.....wonder how much coffee that would buy me :-D

depends. if you want a medium peppermint mocha from the green dragon, it'll cost you about $4.26. haha dont ask me why i know this

HAHAHHAHA about the cake-stealing. So you gusy got any tips for a pre-frosh as to where it's easiest or the most delicious cakes are? which dining hall in particular??? as a girl who's 18th birthday is the first sunday of orientation, i'm VERY interested. HAHAH =]]]

Oh, one more question. During fall break and thanksgiving break and such, are dining halls open and how do you calculate that "week"? For example, fall break starts on Saturday, and instruction begins on wednesday, does that mean I have to finish up 7 meals from wed-saturday (i'm getting 7 mean/week)? thanks! =]

I believe dining halls are closed during fall break and thanksgiving, although RPCC has a Thanksgiving dinner for kids who stay behind.

In the dining world, a week is Thursday to Thursday. In the case of your dining week, it would end the day the dining hall closes. So, on Thursday your account refreshes to 7 meals and you would use them until Saturday (in the case of fall break) and whatever you have left I believe you use on Tuesday/Wednesday (which I think is when the halls reopen). You then refresh to your 7 meals on Thursday.

Sorry if that is confusing!

to get a cake, your friends can just go to the swiper person at the front of the dining hall and ask if they can get you a cake. they just use their brbs to pay for it and then pick it up for later

eating a bought cake is no fun. stolen food always tastes better. HAHAHAH. jay kayyy =]]

Anyone know of how the "house meal plans" work out on West? For example, the "House Choice" is $2,200/semester and includes $250 in BRBs and fifty additional meals. What they leave out though, is how many meals/week that equates to. If it's comparable to Bear Choice then would it be 10/week?

It does mention on the dining site "unlimited access to meals during designated service periods within the West Campus House System." That can't mean round the clock buffet-style living, or can it? (Transfer 15 anyone?)

Dining - House Meal Plans

And for those that live out on West, which meal plan do you suggest?

I got the Bear traditional. Looks like I'll need to plan out how I use the BRBs so I don't just use it all at once.

I'm a little bit concerned about the Golden Bear meal plan. It seems like a good option, but couldn't Berkeley sue for copyright infringement ????

eh....unless it's trademarked....no, they can't

Don't worry about BRBs....it's verrrrrry difficult to spend all in one semeter.

I had $500 BRBs this semester...and with 3 days to go...I still have 76 BRB left
