Med school in china

Hello Everyone..I am currently in a med school in China which is recognised by WHO and also ECFMG..I dont have any problem with recognition of this university. I am also planning to do my USMLE step 1 after I am done with basic subjects. However,I still am worried.

Is it by any chance possible for me to do USMLE just by my self-study? does someone really need some sort of coaching? We all know how med schools in china are..they have the right course work but you shouldnt expect much from the lecturers because of the language barrier.

I really am determined to attempt USMLE but I dont know if the med school one is in plays a big role in outcome of the results. Please advice.

If there are any USMLE step 1 takers..feel free to mail me or add me to your messenger list:

Thanks.

Hey, I’m about to go to medical school in Russia, and I had similar worries. However, I talked to a few people who’ve done it before and as long as you’re willing to work a little harder than normal you should do fine. This means self-studying extra theory (I know in Russia they tend to skip some parts) and do as much clinical practice as you can. According to the people I talked to these two things will help you stay at the level of American schools, and allow you to do well on your USMLE.
