This is a program I really would like to get into, but I don’t know too much about it, about the stats/qualities of those who have gotten in, and exactly how competitive it is. I am a freshman in my spring semester.
Would I have a good chance of getting in with these stats:
3.9+ Science GPA (I am expecting to have a 4.0 by the end of this semester but in case something goes wrong next semester).
Over 200 hours of community service (recipient of presidential service award)
Shands Emergency Department Volunteering (Anesthesiology lab next semester)
Florida Department of Health Volunteering
Extensive community service with poor and marginalized (Homeless shelters, disabled children)
Treasurer of an Honors Organization.
Research in the development of a more efficient mechanism to test oxalate levels in urines.
Acceptance/participation into a summer research program (REU) at the University of Oregon in Summer 2017.
I’m also planning to start researching drug addiction at the McKnight Brain Institute.
Committee member of the Student Honors Organization
Trying to also volunteer at a Hospice next semester.
Will also shadow a physician next semester.
Taking 17-18 credit hours.
Thanks!
