Mediocre high school, second wind student, chance me for Georgetown and recommend me for others.

High School 3.1 GPA (35 ACT) didn’t care until I was cornered

I am attending Arizona State University
Freshman Year: 4.1
I intern at a politicians office, not going to say who.
Sophomore year is great so far.
Got plenty of good recommendations.

I’d like to go to Georgetown SFS or Notre Dame for something in the area of International Relations.

Do I have a reasonable chance? Any other suggestions?

Of course you have a chance. Keep the grades up. Collect good letters of recommendation. Apply.

Meanwhile, investigate semester and year in Washington (and/or abroad) programs. That could be a back-up plan.

I’m just significantly concerned on how my high school stats will look to Georgetown, is it weighed that much for non-sophomore transfers?
