Mediocre Score?

I got a 32 superscored on the ACT. Would that be considered acceptable for UMiami?

What did you guys score?

Does Miami superscore? Also, a 32 is the 97th %. Hardly mediocre

A 32 according to their website is in the 75th percentile which is hardly mediocre. I scored a 31 on the ACT. My Math+CR SAT score is a 1300.

My D2 got in last year with 32 superscore ACT. Her GPA was about 3.7 weighted. FYI, she did not receive any merit money at all.

Their website says a 32 is in the 98th %. Where did you see 75th?

^^According to their student profile they say a 32 is in the 75th percentile

^^^my bad. I was talking about the percentiles on the ACT website. A score of 32 is in the 98th % for all students taking the test. So clearly not a mediocre score.

Mumof2, was your daughter in the top 5% of her class? If not, then that’s why she didn’t receive anything. I’m sorry

Hi, Narissa, my D2 went to a very competitive high school and she definitely wasn’t top 5% probably not even top 20%. But she is a very happy freshman there now!

Mumof2 same thing with my son. ACT 32 in a very competitive high school. They always compare you to your class so in a very bright class, even if you are very smart your ranking will not be too high.

I agree; I’m sorry about that.

Miami does NOT super score ACT.

Yes they do

Teenbodybuilder, I called the office of admission and asked. They surely do.

They told me they only took highest composite at an info session.

Perhaps they misunderstood the question. Your highest composite is built from your highest individual scores; I’m sure of that.

Scroll down to the last page.

Narissa is right. They also stress the fact that if you took the SAT and the also they will only take in consideration the best of those two scores so one should not be afraid to present all the test scores.

Exactly. Like for me, my SAT was significantly lower than my ACT. My SAT score was 1250, but my ACT would have been closer to 1420. Big difference
