I was just wondering if units from ap's can be used to meet the minimum of 90 quarter or 60 semester units to transfer. I've heard that this may be campus specific, if so, can u plz tell me if ucb, ucla, and ucsd accept these units and if they have a cap on the # of ap units that can be used to fulfill the required number of transferable units? I'm also assuming if they accept ap units that they would accept the university of california units for ap's and not the cc units given for them.

You can use your APs for the 60s/90q requirement - check with campus for unit credit.

Note that the max credit you can transfer, CCC + AP, is 70s/105q

While UCLA for example doesn’t give GE credit for History APs, the IGETC does. A nice loophole that allows your APs to count toward GEs :)

AP credit for IGETC is the following:
AP Exam | Area it counts toward

Art History* | 3A or 3B*
U.S. Government & Politics | 4H and US 2
Biology | 5B with lab

*AP exams may be used in either area regardless of where the certifying CCC’s discipline is
located.
