I've been thinking about it, and I don't know... but I really feel like I didn't deserve an early write letter.

my test scores are DEFINITELY not as outstanding as those of some of the other applicants I've seen (whether they got an early write letter or not).

now, one of the teachers who wrote me a rec is an alum and he told me that someone in the admissions office is from my high school... I'm positive that that had a great deal to do with my acceptance, but I'm still doubting the early write acceptance. do you think that's good enough to get an early write? idk.

I'm a minority, but not really underrepresented (Middle Eastern/South Asian)

I'm very proud of my ECS, but I still don't see them as outstanding

I don't think my essays were outstanding either, I think they were pretty good.

I haven't visited campus, I haven't had an interview.

I'm still amazed that I got in, I just can't come to grips with it!

I'd like to tell myself that they really thought I'd fit in at Wes.. but who knows... lol >_<

Congrats! But, your post might upset some of the applicants out there who are still waiting for their decisions to come out. I got an early-write as well. lol
Just be glad that you got in, and stop trying to analyze the whole admission process :)

dukiex3: don’t worry, everyone goes through that. I was accepted ED II and I kept asking myself why they accepted me, because kids with much better SATs than me, better GPAs, better ECs got rejected. I even thought that I was only accepted because I didnt’ request financial aid when the economy is so funky, and that was the sole reason for my acceptance, but then I realized that they probably saw something else in my application: maybe my essay or something because when I got to know people who are going to Wes, we all seemed really similar. I think they look beyond your grades and stuff to see what sort of person you are and how you will add to their class, so don’t doubt your early write or any other acceptance you get, just be thankful that that college saw you on a couple of pieces of paper and was very impressed by that. :)

the first thing that the admissions tells us when we get here is that they ‘don’t make mistakes.’ From the people I’ve met so far, I kind of have a feeling that they really don’t. they admit a very unique student body. and don’t worry, because when i got in i felt the same way too. kind of amazing how the adcoms here make decisions even w/o requesting a supplement!
