I have been reading a couple threads here in this forum looking for some strategies to review for my APEuro test and plus the World History AP test I am self studying (started self studying March) however I am continuously confronted with suggestions to... MEMORIZE.

I would like to know, from those who have successfully done it, how do you memorize for these two tests? What do you mean by "memorize"? What techniques and strategies do you use?

As far as I know, I think its not effective to memorize, but I hope I can be proved wrong. :)

For the AP Euro test, I outlined half of the review book. Basically, I did this so that I would actually process the information that I was reading, rather than forget about it.

You need to know quite a few facts for the multiple choice...and knowing about the French Revolution never hurts.

They also do some testing on themes on the multiple choice, and knowing historical themes REALLY helps for the essays.

billybobbyk, but how exactly do you "memorize"? Do you just repeat "French Revolution" then a list of all its causes, then a list of its effects, and continue to repeat? Or do you use mnemonics? Or do you simply, as you say, create outlines?

Gumball, yes, I have seen that, how does it work out for you? I would have to buy one for World History and Euro. I was though, thinking of buying it in the last week of review and then follow its 5 steps, instead of buying it now.

Just incase anyone is interested, I am self studying AP World History with Princeton Review, and I am taking the AP Euro test after taking the course this whole year.

Its already April and I am in need of a good strategy for review... I dont want to just aimlessly read the PR and thats it. I want to effectively do as much as I can to get a 5 on both tests, 4 at minimum.

wait, am i supposed to memorize? I'm just reading through the barron's book... (without any note taking or writing). oh snap [ap world history, first ap test].
