Hey guys,
Got my acceptance today, very excited, congratulations to everyone in the same boat, and good luck to everyone else (yall will do just fine), but anyway I just checked out the website and realized that GWU lists National Merit under their Presidential Scholarship considerations. I am a National Merit Finalist and I originally put Rutgers as my first-choice college on my National Merit card, but I am going to change that tomorrow (I'm going to fax that postcard to change it; the deadline to change it is 4/29). Do you think GWU would still consider me for their merit-based scholarships if they don't receive notice that they are my first-choice college until later in the month? I read in a thread that merit-based aid is offered in the admission packets that were already sent out. I put down that I was a semifinalist on my commonapp and it was printed on my transcript too. Do you guys think that's enough? Or perhaps being a finalist doesn't hold that much weight in comparison to GPA/SAT and it doesn't really matter?

I feel really dumb now for not noticing GWU was on the list of sponsor colleges, and for not realizing they offered merit-based aid. I just assumed that most private colleges bypassed National Merit sponsorship. The Elliott School is really awesome and I'd prefer Elliott instead of Rutgers (Rutgers is cool, but you know, it's more nj) GAH!!!
