Merit based aid vs automatic aid

@Living61‌

There is no email letter. Just the status page on the Gibson site and the paper letter/package.

There is definitely an email acceptance letter. I have one. But I haven’t received the envelope yet.

I just did some more research and figured out that a congratulatory email is sent to admitted applicants and the Gibson portal is updated with the decision. The package with a formal acceptance letter and merit offer comes a few days later. Congratulations to all!

You are the first one to ever mention an email. Either your admissions person sent one to you personally, or it was added to the program within the last couple of days. Maybe that is why Gibson was down a few days ago. Anyone else that has been accepted gotten an email, in addition to seeing it on Gibson and the paper letter?

@fallenchemist‌ Under the EA Decisions thread, you’ll find a few people mention an email as well.

I don’t see any, but it doesn’t really matter.

The website indicates admission, but merit awards come in the mail at the time of the acceptance letter. Unfortunately, we got nothing, which pretty much makes Tulane a dead issue for us. They indicated we may get some consideration in the Spring but I view that as remote. There’s no appeal or second look. I tried through the Alum association, and they cannot help. The good news is that Penn State and others are still in the running, and I save money by never giving to the Tulane Alum Association again!
