Just received my letter today. 16,000 / year

wow congrats!

Did you people get your merit information along with your acceptances? Because I didn't get anything regarding financial aid and I'm a tad worried.

My acceptance package was just that: an acceptance package. The merit scholarship letter came today (2 days later) and still no word on financial aid.

All right, thanks Alex!

i got offered 10,100 a year

but in the letter, it didnt say anything about honors college although i think i def. qualify for it!

You could always call and ask why you weren't admitted to the honors program.

Ugh. This is annoying me. I'm listed as an international address [I'm from NY but studying abroad for my senior year] and so I got my acceptance by email, but have heard NOTHING from financial aid or merit stuff because mail takes foreverrrrr to get to France!

Does anyone know when the merit and financial aid packages will be posted on myNeu?

I just got 16 K per year and I have no idea why...

3.1 GPA, ~45% CR, 720/670/620 M/V/W SAT and 740 IIC, 650 Physics, and 590 USH.

Regardless, woohoo!

I got $16,000 per year also and I wasn't put into the honors program.. It would be nice to be in it but oh well..

Wow congrats Jimmy! Don't question why they gave you money, just take it.

kk,
Have you considered appealing the school's decision not to put you in the honor program?

Maximus which are the benefits tha honor students get ?????

My S got an 11,000/year scholarship. What % of students are offered a merit scholarship?

I got 7,500 a year.

You have to be in the top 25% to be considered, but as for the actual percentage that gets it, I don't think they publish that anywhere.

Wow, really. Do they go by the numbers only, or are ecs and leadership skills included when accessing the "top 25%"?

Actually, yes I just read on their website that the top 25% are considered for scholarships. I learned on USNews that 19% of freshmen receive merit scholarships (average is just over 13,300).

Anyone have advice as to how I can show that I'm serious about the school? I really hate talking on the phone, so I'd prefer to avoid that route.

That top 25% stuff is absolutely off. I'm slightly above 45% (meaning worse than 45%) and I got 16 K per year...
