So I tried doing some research on this on the website but I’m still confused.
I got into the Honors Program with the University Honors Scholarship of 27k my freshman year and 13.5k the next three years. Do all students who get into the honors program automatically get this exact scholarship? If a student is qualified for the Dean’s Scholarship, will they just give you whichever offers more, or would they give you both the Honors Scholarship and the Dean’s Scholarship?
I saw that the Dean’s Scholarship gives money to the top 10-15 percent of students, while the Honors program admits the top 10 percent, so would the people with the Dean’s Scholarship be the people in between 10 percent and 15 percent?
I’m just kinda curious how all this scholarship stuff works!
@vlnml1616 you get one or the other not both. Look at your scholarship again the 13.5K freshman year is most likely per semester or 27k per year. They state it this way because some semesters you will be on co-op and not paying tuition.
@LkL5789 OH haha now I feel stupid. That makes a lot more sense!
Much better $!!
I also got into the honors program with the 27k University Honors Scholarship! I couldn’t find much information about this online, so I was wondering if anyone knows how common it is/ what percentage of students receive this scholarship? I’m so excited!
@wannabeBlueDevil All I know is that we’re in at least the top ten percent! Looking through the 2021 thread, the only numbers I’ve seen for the Honors Scholarship were 21k, 27k, and 28k. Not sure how exactly these scholarships are distributed though.
Congrats to you all… I am thinking that the title of University Honors scholarship is new this year and might be because they no longer have the University Scholars program and are splitting those scholarship funds around to more students, but who knows?
From as far as I can see my Honors Scholarship was 15,000 a year. I
