I sent an inquiry to see where the plebes were sitting so we could purchase tickets near them; unfortunately they do not know. However, this is the reponse they gave me about general admission, etc.

"We do not have general admission seating in the Stadium, the least expensive seats for August 6th is $20.00.

We offer complimentary tickets to all military personal that have active military ID (you do not need to be in uniform). This offer is good for any Mets home game with the exception of Opening Day the Yankee Series and Fireworks night or any game that is a potential sellout. Please come into the Ticket office located between gates C-D, to the desk in on the right, and present your military ID. This must be done on the day of the game and cannot be done in advance. Those in your party without active military ID will be required to purchase their tickets. All tickets are subject to availability. Thanks."

Looking forward to seeing our plebe...and of course, the rest of the class of 2012.

Don't worry about getting a seat close to your son/daughter because you will not sit at all during the game. What happend last year was the plebe candidates were allowed to walk anywhere on the level in which they were sitting and the parents/friends hung out with them the entire game by the concession stands. Don't think we even saw one pitch :D

suzanne is RIGHT! We never saw the game NOR did we even go to our seats - which were not anywhere near the PCs. It was too much fun watching the PCs and you can do that by merely hanging around the entranceway to their seats in the concession area. They are quite easy to spot for obvious reasons. They did have to stay in their seats until the end of the first inning(?) or some designated time, but then they were pretty free to hang out with us. For anyone within striking range, it is well worth the trip, hassle & expense. Definitely a highlight of my summer. Take your camera too. I was brazen enough to climb over fans in the stadium to get shots of the PCs. Those die-hard Mets fans loved me doing that... hahaha.

I can't wait for the game. My brother told me about a website where I could get cheaper seats. I got 4 tickets for $32.

I was also told by many people not to drive there if at all possible. They said because of the new stadium being build there is limited parking. We are taking the train which has a stop right there.

If you are REALLY ambitious, try to figure out where the buses drop off the PCs. Last year, when they disembarked from the bus, the crowds standing in line in that area began to applaud them!!! Oh...that reminds me. . .bring tissues and a sewing kit for when your buttons burst from pride.

If you go, take lots of pictures of everyone you see from KP and post them for the parents out of state. Last year, we waited for the KP buses to arrive in the lot next to the stadium, and I snapped photos of anyone and everyone! I posted them on Shutterfly and heard from folks all over. Also, since many plebe candidates do get up and walk around during the game, we were fortunate to move into empty seats behind the "sea of white" uniforms. No one chased us away and we spent many innings with our son and his buddies. When they left to go "home" (back to KP) at the end of the game, the Mets fans lined up on the walkways giving high 5's and words of encouragement and thanks. It was unforgettable!

For East Coast parents attending the Mets game. Can you help out parents from other parts of the country? Maybe take some video of the kids in their whites and post it on Youtube?

According to the group sales office at Shea the guys will be sitting in Section 21, Mezzanine level, Reserved seating. They begin in row H and go up from there. I believe there level seats are $20.00. The rows in front of them are $35.00 per seat.

Care to share the site where you got the cheap tickets?

Alright all you other parents out there that either went to the game or saw it on TV. How about posting some pictures or video? My wife and I would really like to see some. We even watched the Yankees game last night on ESPN in hopes that they would cut over to the Mets game for a update or such.
