I'm a high school senior in Ohio: 4.0 GPA, 31 ACT, 2020 SAT. I would like to go to a school where I could get a full ride. I'm looking to major in journalism and minor in musical theatre. What are the pros/cons of these two colleges?

^The 31 ACT score and 4.0 gpa does not allow you to receive a full merit award at these schools. You still have some time to increase your score before you apply for a possible part or free tuition, but not a full ride (which would include room and board). The information you need about scholarships is on their websites.

With your current stats you would be eligible for a full ride at Youngstown State University by applying for the Cochran Scholarship. I cannot speak about the journalism musical theater programs of any of the schools.

As you are an Ohio resident, none of these schools is too far away. I suggest you make some college visits; do the tours and attend informational sessions. Good Luck in your search.

You need a minimum 32 act score to be considered for full tuition
Neither one will give you a full ride (tuition plus room and board) or even full tuition for that matter. For what you are interested in I would recommend OU. Scripps School of Journalism is well known and OU has a strong arts program. Miami as a rule is more selective but based solely on what you want to study I would recommend OU. Both schools have beautiful campuses, but are very different in feel.
OU is better known for journalism (although Miami’s program is respectable), but IMHO Miami actually has a stronger reputation in the arts. I agree that you are unlikely to get a full ride from either, and the schools are very different.
