Michigan is not greedy. Michigan, like many universities, is trying to attract the best faculty and students. For that to happen, Michigan must pay high salaries for faculty, and provide both faculty and students with world-class facilities and research. Structures like our new Business school ($150 million), top 10 Hospital and incredible Engineering campus cost a great deal to build and maintain. There will come a time when Michigan will be able to give back, but that time is not near.

As for the error concerning Blackpen, we must understand that Michigan receives over 25,000 applications each year. With that kind of volume, some mistakes will happen. There is no need to panic or get angry. One phone call and email with supporting documents is all it takes to clear things up.
