Michigan not accepting September ACT scores if they come after deadline

Michigan has a recording on their admissions line that you must have ACT scores in by the 1st of November or you can’t apply EA. My D is still waiting on her writing score from the September test, a test that Michigan originally said it would accept for EA. It has been over six weeks without a writing score, and the scores won’t be sent until that score is ready.

My D only has this set of ACT scores as she could not take it earlier. Does anyone know if Michigan is really towing as hard a line on this as they are saying on their recording? If so, what a terrible disappointment.

I think they usually have a few days of grace period as they are not that efficient to update their database anyway. Did your D take SAT? If she did, submit that score even if it is not good to make her application complete. Nevertheless, one needs to have a better test schedule planning for applying EA.
