Michigan State EA Decision Notification

Has anyone who has gotten into MSU also gotten a scholarship decision??

That is true.

You can look up which counselors serve which schools and regions here

I heard somewhere if MSU gives you a student ID before releasing your decision, you’re probably in, is that true?

Got notified a few days ago that I was accepted into the James Madison College. Expected as such since I got admitted any my major was international relations (only offered at the JMC). I am really confused about merit scholarships. Really hopeful to get some, but have no clue where I will be notified and where they will be given out. Seems ridiculous to pay $250 just to hear about the merit scholarships.

Thanks! We can see my daughter’s admission counselor. So admission speed probably depends on how your counselor gets your application rather than stats, in state, out of state etc.

My daughter was accepted on Wednesday night!
In State
Test optional
3.8 unweighted.

Wondering if anyone who got accepted early in the month has gotten an acceptance letter from the honors college yet.

That won’t be until at least mid-December or maybe early January.

Congratulations!! My son has not heard yet, however on Wednesday he was talking with his MSU admissions counselor for another question. The counselor brought up Honors on his own, said he would check my son’s status on Monday, and expected that my son would hear very soon.

The MSU Honors Admissions page says notifications come 6 to 8 weeks after MSU admission, so it may depend on when you applied and were admitted as well
not sure.

We were nervous because it is the only school she wanted to go to. I was like well
if you don’t hear soon you might want to start thinking about your second choice. Lol

Son accepted to Engineering yesterday. OOS (Indiana), high GPA and test scores. I’ve heard through grapevine that they are behind in COE.

MSU does not admit directly to the college of engineering. All students must complete the requirements and then apply to an engineering major during the semester they will complete the pre-reqs.

Hi, did you get any definite answer(from other sources) regarding when you will be receiving a scholarship decision?

Scholarships are given starting in mid November and go through March. Yes, there is a portal that we can’t access until we pay the deposit, but there are some scholarships that are given without it and we do not have to pay to see those.

I have a sophomore at MSU and an admitted senior. In response to many people’s question, we did not have to pay any type of deposit in order to receive scholarship information. MSU will email a PAN number and then the student will have access to a totally different page which has scholarship info etc. A separate mailing is sent as well. A deposit is not needed to receive this. My son was accepted on the first day they went out and we have still not received anything.

Any acceptances today?

Son accepted this morning oos Game Design. Very pleased as this is one of the best programs in the country. Will have to sit back and see if the financials work out.

Has anyone noticed any sign on the portal before your decision is out because many other schools like Penn State and Texas A&M have a sign?

Daughter got her letter this morning! Applied 10/31. GPA 3.81/4. ACT 27.
