Michigan's essays

Anyone started doing Michigan's short answers? when they say approximately 250 words, do most people go over that or under that?

You can go over it , sure but to an extent. Try to keep it around half a page. Widen the margins , use a smaller font - things like that.

they say keep 1 inch margins, so I wouldn't widen them. My short answers are around 270-280 words, if that helps.

Mine were 295 and 250 words.

Mine were 290 and 282 respectively. I was accepted.

If it's between 270-280 words, your fine. But a helpful reminder, try to cut down the amount of words. When I did that, my essays were much better.

Okay, good. mine is exactly 275.

I came to U.S at age of 11, and I'm currently a US Permanent Resident (so I'm not an international student), do I still have to take TOEFL?

^^ what are your trying to accomplish? Looks to me you are in the wrong thread.

yup sorry i posted in the wrong thread

i got a question about the essays...for the issue of local concern..does it mean local as in domestic? or local as in your town/county/state?

i didn't choose that one, but i took it as in local being your town or county. state might be a bit of a reach, but if a state issue (e.g. in CA, gas prices) has an affect on your town, by all means write about it.

Does anyone know what the word limit is on the Ross Essay? I looked online at the app, but it doesn't seem clear.
Thanks!

If i remember correctly the Ross PA essay word limit was 500.

Thanks vc, that's what I thought but I just had to check.
