So my roommate and I were wondering whether to get a microfridge or a minifridge.

We’re living in Segundo (Ryerson) this year, and I know that there’s a kitchen on our floor which I’ve heard has a microwave and fridge.

Is the kitchen open 24-hrs? Also, does anyone know the condition of the microwave and fridge in Ryerson specifically?

Are there any other appliances in the dorm kitchens?

And would it be worth it to get a microfridge for our dorm, or to just stick with a cheaper minifridge?

You'll want to get your own minifridge because the ones in Ryerson are disgusting! There's a very strong smell in there, probably because it's so ancient (at least 10-15 years old).

The microwave is awesome. It's high-powered and very new. Other than a stove, sink, and cupboards, that's all there is in the kitchens. They are definitely open every hour. It's at the end of the hallway--connected to the lounge. Be sure not to leave your cooking unattended! Some girls burnt their popcorn last year and it set off the alarm, evacuating the whole building. NOT pleasant at all!

what about castilian?

I say you two go wild. Buy both.

Thank you marzxbarz!

Yeah my roommate seems pretty intent on getting us a microfridge since she wants us to have a freezer for late night icecream (yum), but we're trying to see if we can get any microfridges (freezer+refrigerator) that are cheaper than the price ASUCD is offering.
