Does anyone know how much it costs to rent a microfridge? I know the microfridge is a combination microwave and refrigerator. I believe the dorm policy don't allow you to have both a microwave and a refrigerator in your room unless you rent the microfridge. Is it possible to bring your own refrigerator and just have that in your room. I think each suite has a community microwave that can be used. Can someone confirm? Thanks.

each building has a kitchen with a microwave. if you live on 1st, it’s not that bad a walk to just go out and use it. if you’re on 2nd/3rd you might want to invest in one. i rented mine from Collegiate Concepts, Inc. (which i heard about because that’s what uci sent in the mail) and it was $189.

you can have a separate fridge if it fits within uci’s regulations

Wow

Microfridge

lol

I do know a friend who has a mini-fridge in her dorm room

You can bring your own mini fridge. The micro fridge is around a 100 (?), you can split with your room mate the costs.

I rented the microfridge but I don’t use the microwave often. You are allowed to bring your own small fridge, but there are size requirements.
Friends use my microwave all the time to make popcorn =/

whenever my roommate makes popcorn it takes so long for the smell to disappear ._. i don’t use the microwave often either because i don’t usually go out to eat and bring back leftovers. i don’t have frozen foods either because it takes too much room to store in the small freezer

Yea. The popcorn smell lasts for like days…its annoying to say the least. The only thing in my freezer is Thin Mints =D

why do you freeze thin mints? do they taste better if frozen?

Yes they taste amazing frozen. Also helps because I don’t devour them since I hardly ever open my freezer.

…now i’m craving thin mints.

=O I ate all mine, but my parents have some frozen. Good thing I went home =D! YUM!
