Mid-term Report

Hello all, just wondering if anyone could tell me the significance of the midterm report. I'm worried as to how much it will impact my admissions chances at some of the schools I'm transferring to. Now my grades aren't that bad relatively speaking, but they aren't straight A's unfortunately. My courses this semester are maxed at 18 credit hours and I'm taking Chem 1112 (Lab) - A, Chem 1312 - B+, Math 2414 - B+ , Phys 2325- A+, Phys 2125 (Lab) -A, Psy 2301 - A, and Geos 3359- A. The only schools I'm applying to are Vanderbilt, Penn, and JHU. I know Vanderbilt doesn't look at the midterm report so I'm ok there, but Penn and JHU do so I would like to know how important this is to them. Thanks.

~3.83 gpa this semester so far - your grades are the last thing to worry about.

I would like to bump this since I want to know the answer as well.

If I have a 4.0 on my midterm report, including an A in the second level of the only class I got a B in last semester, how much will this help my application?

Let’s use some logic here. How much the midterm report will help or hurt depends on the college you’re applying to and where in the applicant pool you fall.

If you are at the bottom of the applicant pool, the midterm report is unlikely to matter much, even if it’s very good.

If you are at the top of the applicant pool, the midterm report is unlikely to matter unless it is significantly below your past grades.

If you are in the middle of the applicant pool, the midterm report is likely to matter more.

Can anyone here predict with any accuracy how the midterm report will affect your decision at selective colleges? I highly doubt it.
