Hey guys,
I have a 3.87 GPA (from freshman year to second semester junior year) on a 4.0 scale. Unfortunately, I'm getting 3 or 4 Bs in my first semester of senior year (all other semesters I've gotten either 1 or 2 Bs).

Will this reflect really poorly on my application? Or is the mid year report just a kind of validation that we aren't failing completely?

Senior year first semester was very, very difficult (captain of clubs, most advanced classes, college apps, etc.) which is the reason for the drop in grades.

Generally, selective colleges expect you to stay on the same even-keel your senior year as your freshman, sophomore and junior years – and they often want to see an upward trend your senior year (after all, you should be hitting the books full steam trying to impress colleges with your grades, not your EC’s). You should make an appointment with your GC and ask him or her to write an explanation for your drop in grades on the mid-year report. Hopefully, your GC will be able to write something that might assuage an Admissions Committee’s fears about a senior year slump.
