I bombed my exam even after hours of studying on calc bc... I will now have my first c ever.. I've had a 3.57 unweighted but I haven't had an a in a core class since sophomore year because of all my app classes... I was wondering how this would affect my application. How highly do colleges value mid year reports?

They are as important as the rest of the package, but a C is not life destroying. It shouldn’t matter to most schools.

Depends on the school. You may have just bombed your chances at a highly selective school such as Harvard if you are a marginal candidate. On the other hand, if you’re aiming at somewhere like UIUC or GeorgiaTech - a single C shouldn’t matter much.

^ That is how the general advice goes(don’t read too much into it). I for one, am in a similar situation with my Math marks!! :p
