Mid Year Report

you also have to take basic Stats.

what do you think are my chances of getting in ?

dudel, ultimately it doesn't matter what your chances are, it's only a matter of if you get in or not. Just wait and see. Sorry, but there's a reason this time is supposed to be stressful.

wow! after reading through all of these posts...i'm getting really nervous. i applied to bucknell (reg. dec.) and thought i had pretty good chances. i am in the top 8% of my grad. class of about 500 from a suburban NJ high school. my sat scores are a bit low though (about a 1250 on the old scale). i retook them and just did worse, but i have great ap scores and sent 5 recommendations as well as a pretty beefed up set of ec's plus a 20 hr. a week job. oh gosh, should i even ask...what are my chances?

Late to the party...I have to agree with Equine on the AP exams. My son was able to finish his core save for one class (which he picked up this year) in his freshman year. That gave him more room for other things. And he never had to open another math text.

Equine, have you declared yet or are you a freshman? My son is a Poli Sci/Philo double.

I'm a freshman, so I havn't technically declared yet, but I have a 3.91 w/ A's in all of the classes relevnt to the econ major, with (after this semester) all of my econ specific math requirments and two of my econ core classes (I've taken Calc 1, and intro econ, and am currently taking Stats 1 and Intermedeate Microecon) done so i think I can safely call myself an econ major. What does your son think of the philosophy department so far?

I bet the Econ profs would love to have you declare! Are you going for the honors major? Your grades are excellent!

He likes the Philo department a lot. His freshman seminar advisor (Steiner) kind of got him hooked. He took more philo his second semester and decided he wanted to do Political Science (Politcal Theory) and Philo double since he had room. I forget what he's taking this semester though...I get his classes mixed up with his brother who is also taking a Poli Sci track. I'm thinking maybe Metaphysics is one.

He's going to do a semester in D.C. next year and hopefully the honors major. His only Bs have been outside the major...thus far....
