I just got my report card last week and I need to get a grade changed. This usually takes around a week at my school. After that ordering transcripts should take about 3 days. Which means my midyear report won't get sent out until week of March 5-9. Is this too late? What is exactly is supposed to be a cut off date for sending mid year reports/transcripts?

I'd imagine it depends on the school - most colleges have deadlines listed on their websites.

If it looks like time is a problem, how about sending the original transcripts along with notes explaining the issue, and then sending the updated transcripts as soon as they're available?

do it anyway, my grade changed too and it was sent late february? might be too late for some school but if its before decision time its best to just send it

I'd do what invertedcommas said - send one in with a note, call Admissions and tell them that, then send in the corrected copy.

And, just out of curiosity, why would it take 3 days to order a transcript? At my school, it takes literally 3 seconds. You step into the guidance office, ask for a transcript, the secretary prints a copy out, seal it, done. (okay, maybe 5 seconds)

At my school, you can only pick up transcripts on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you have to order the transcript a few days before.

Some schools can be so large that simply going to a counselor and asking won't result in anything, because they are pretty busy.

In my opinion, I don't think it is a huge burden to get a transcript printed quickly, but it is the policy, and they yell at you if you ask otherwise.

Christalena, to my knowledge few colleges accept anything that doesn't come from either the HS itself or the official test agency's. I would suggest to anyone thinking of sending information to a school, ask if it will be accepted as official communication.

My experience may prove helpful to you.I found out yesterday that my D's GC was just mailing the Mid-Term reports.YIKES!...I called the universities she had applied to, and asked if they needed a 'heads up" they are coming in her file. In each case they said, no worries, just send them as soon as possible. They understood that some HS send out the forms later than others-especially large urban public hs.

I just found out again that the mid term grades were not received or lost at one of my D's school. This makes the third time the school will have to remail out something.

Don't assume anything just check check check

How did you find that out? Did you call the colleges and asked them to check files? Because mid-year report doesn't show up in the online status check of the schools that I applied to, how would I know if they've not been received?
