Can anyone tell me when colleges need a mid year transcript sent to them? Do most schools require one sent? Thinking we’re at that juncture now so…
^^^ every college on your student’s list that says they need one, needs one. You can’t really want a top down list as that would take forever and would include schools you don’t care about. Just look over the dozen or so that your kid applied to and tell her send them if required. And if she doesn’t want to parse it out, tell her to have her HS send them to every school without knowing if they care or not. They will just fall on the cutting room floor if they don’t want them.
My bad. Sorry I misread the word “when” as “what” in your first sentence. My kids’ HS just sent them (asked for or not) when available to every school on the list needed or not. But my son’s HS was on trimesters so that was trickier because the timing didn’t line up as easily. I’d ask your HS college guidance what they do to support the transcript process for college apps. If they automatically send everything to everyone, you’re set. If not, I’d be on it school by school.
@theaterwork of my D’s 15(!) schools, I think only one asked for a mid-year transcript: Michigan.
I think one of her schools do. I think so far I only see one on the common app that needed one. Guess I’ll check the fine details to make sure! I feel like it’s only rather strict academic schools that want it.
