Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know I have an oookay shot, but I don't know exactly how great... and I keep on worrying about my "official" class rank

...oh and I think only 2 people in the past 5 years have applied to Midd from my school, and they did not get in.

anyone?...please?

You look like a strong candidate. Your SATs are very good. Your official class rank is good but not great (but at least it puts you in the top 10%). Write great essays and get glowing recs and I think you have a decent shot. Good luck!

There's not really anything more that someone could tell you that you don't already know yourself. Obviously, you have a good chance, but is not a slam dunk. A 1540 SAT is probably in the top 10% at Middlebury and a top 2% hs class rank is probably about average. However, whether they deem you a better a better candidate than someone with a 1390 SAT and top 1% of hs class with some other more interesting aspect in their application is an unquantifiable mystery that cannot even be attempted to be answered by anyone here.

You seem to have a good chance of getting in, but at the same time remember that we are talking about Middlebury. Middlebury and all the other top liberal arts schools are very competitive and it is not uncommon for them to reject students ranked 1 in their class simply because they get so many apps for so few spots.
