midyear grades

I got in EA and UNC is asking for my midyear grades. I don't have a problem with this, but it seems slightly pointless, seeing that I've already enrolled. Anyone else agree?

You can see it elsewhere on cc.....they want to make sure you're not completely blowing off school. They admitted you assuming your sr year would be relatively similar performance to previous hs years. If its way bad, your acceptance could be revoked.....

wait..did unc email you? because they didnt ask me (yet) for midyr grades. did anyone else get asked for them?

UNC asks you to self-report (don't need your hs to send in grades). The link to report is now on your homepage (where you can see your online version of admit letter)

ohh okay yeah i see it.

dang it. i didnt do too well in AP Macro. blaaaahhh

If you are self reporting it, how do they know that what is reported is reliable?

They say they will check ur final transcript. I went ahead and submitted mine.

ok im having some issues. my school system goes by terms. we have 4 terms, which are split into 2 semesters, 2 terms in each semester. im almost done with 2nd term right now, so do i send in my 1st term grades or my 2nd term grades? my school doesnt average out the 2 terms to give like, an overall semester grade. and the midyr report form only lets you put in 1 grade. do i average the 2 grades out myself? or do i only choose one term? for example, in one of my classes, i got an A- the 1st term and a B the 2nd term. which do i put?

I think you should average them, to come up with a semester grade.

misstinax3, although what the last poster said to do makes the most sense to me, I would call the UNC admissions office. Then you'll know for sure that you did it correctly.

astrophysicsmom, usually the just-making-sure-you-aren't-failing thing is reserved for final grades.

I guess they ask for it because it's not like it requires any extra forms - just type 'em in online and you're good to go.

i have the same problem with misstinax except my school doesnt give out +/-...so what should i do if i got an A 1st quarter and a B 2nd quarter? do i give myself the A- or B+?

Also, does anyone know how much UNC weights an RD applicant's midyear reports? i'm OOS and i've been getting straight A's since frosh year but this quarter of senior yr, i have a few B's in my AP classes :( ...

omg...LOL..izzy427--chill out, B's are fine.

i got in EA with a C- in Ap calc junior yr. and i got a C+ in ap macroecon last term. but everything else looks okay so i dont think it'll be a big deal

b's in ap classes are definitely okay.

They haven't emailed me..should I just volunteer? lol

check your UNC home page...that's where I first found it.
