Midyear reports?

I have a quick question
does USNA require midyear grades to be sent?

Depends-

they are not required for HS students. They are required for those in college (first semester grades), as well as grade reports for those at NAPS* and Foundation* (*although, in reality, their grades through April will be used).

All will need to submit final grades at the end of the academic year.

Even HS students send final grades?
what would be the point if you already have an appointment and are days away from entering the academy?

^^^^

Your appointment isn't guaranteed. If you failed all of your second semester courses with no legitimate explanation, USNA might decide not to admit you. They also want to make sure you actually attended class and graduated from high school.

For 99.999% of candidates, it's not a problem. A slight decrease in your grades isn't fatal. However, you can't just quit going to school or studying just because you have an appointment.

My son is a Sr in HS, 3Qd, has 2 noms...Admissions still wants to see his 1st Semester grades before they make a decision. We will be providing them in late January.
