We accept official scores that are listed on the high school transcript or sent from the testing agency. Scores listed on the Common Application are considered self-reported and will be reviewed by the admission committee.

So does that mean it's okay to just list one's scores on the CommonApp without sending official reports? I'd rather not waste one of my free reports on Smith if they're okay with self-reported scores. I'd email and ask, but it's Sunday and I don't think anyone's in the office and the deadline for free reports is tomorrow.

Thank you. :)

you should contact the admissions office to verify this, but my GUESS would be:

a) if you list your scores on the Common App, they are going to look at them (so even though it’s an SAT/ACT optional school, they will be part of the admissions decision because you “self-reported” them).

b) however, listing them on the Common App just means they’re self-reported. They still need “official” scores, which can be EITHER on your transcript or sent by the testing authority.

Okay, thanks!
