can you list the best schools in Minnesota?
Thanks very much!

I’m not too familiar with Minnesota, but the only one I really hear about is the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities campus.

Carleton College is quite good. Also, as BaddyCaddy said, U of MN.

Some good schools are Carleton, Macalester, St. Olaf, and St. Johns/St. Benedict. If you’re a Minnesota resident, consider looking out of state, too. Minnesotans get criticized on these boards for sticking close to home. Wisconsin could be a good public for you because of in-state tuition for Minnesota residents.

All of the best Minnesota schools have been listed already, so I don’t have much to add lol. It should be noted, though, that the only major university in Minnesota is the U of M. So if you want that setting, that’s basically your only choice (and of course you could go OOS to UW-Madison with in-state tuition too). However, if you want a small liberal arts college, the other colleges that have been listed are where you would want to look.

Carleton, Macalester, St. Olaf, UMN.

Carleton, Macalester, St Olaf, U of Mn are by far the best.

Next tier would be Gustavus Adolphus (Lutheran and a lot like St Olaf just slightly lower average ACT scores, something like 27 vs 29), University of St Thomas (down the street from Macalester, Catholic, very heavy business and pre-professional focus), St John/St Benedict (one guys school, one girls school but in same city and essentially connected)

For the others–google Minnesota Private College week and you can see the entire list of 17 or so schools. Also, if you visit 4 private colleges that week (always the last week of June), you get 4 fee-waivers to apply to any Minnesota private college for free (just don’t waste them on Carleton or Gustavus since those apps are free).

Carleton is my favorite school on the face of this planet. Please apply. The people are amazing.

+1 on all of these
