Minor In Business Ross ?

I'm curious do people think the minor will be able open the same doors as the BBA program ? I prefer the minor since i don't want stay an extra year.......What's everyones opinion?

First of all: stay an extra year? Why would this be necessary?
Secondly: no, of course it wouldn’t. Does a chemical engineering minor open up the same doors as a chemical engineering major? Or any other field, for that matter? The business minor might look somewhat good (as good as a minor really can look, anyway), but I don’t think it would be in anyway comparable to a business degree from Ross.

If you were an econ major and a business minor all that would say is “I didn’t get into Ross.”

I’ve also heard companies hiring engineers don’t like applicants with a lot of business classes because they don’t know what their goals are. They think they’ll just bolt when they get the chance for business stuff

lol @Maizeandblue21 I don’t know some kids really wanna do econ…

I disagree, I think the business minor would be a great idea. The whole “didn’t get into Ross” logic doesn’t apply, they’re only going to allow up to 100 business minors, so it may be more competitive than the BBA.

I love Econ too and so far Econ classes have been far more interesting than Ross ones. If you can study Econ while getting the career support from the minor, you’ll be in a fine position.

The only caveat for that being every applicant who was strong enough to get into Ross will not be in that applicant pool so it will almost assuredly be “easier” to get into regardless of whether or not the acceptance rate is over/under 39% or wherever Ross regular admissions floats at.

Also I can’t imagine Ross giving business minors access to BBA recruiting or Ross career services given that those students will not be BBA’s.
