I'm a chemical engineering major, and I have some free classes. Should I minor in Econ or Management? Which one would allow me to further excel above my peers, and help me get jobs and internship or etc?

Econ is very easy to dual major in. A minor at RPI is only four classes. I’m a current student and am taking both mgmt and Econ classes, while engr is my primary dual.

As far as which is better… That you would have to ask job recruiter, personal oppinion I guess. I am very much into the mgmt classes, and I really enjoy them and the prof, but I also enjoy Econ.

I minored in Economics way back (5 courses required then). It was fun at the time, but has NEVER been a factor in employment or graduate school. Some management courses could be helpful in rounding out your transcript, along with verbal and written communications. But I don’t think there is anything special about having a minor in either one.
