wats the regulations. can i jus bring my own from home. id rather jus buy new ones so i can keep them after school ends. can sum1 explain the supposed "regulations" ooo and anything i need to koe about TVs

Its cheaper to buy your own refrig/microwave/microfridge (the amount you pay to rent it for 1 year will just about cover the cost of the entire unit which youd be using for 4 yrs)- the problem is just transportation if you only have a compact car. You can actually buy a microfridge combo unit (you can google it). Or you can just purchase a separate microwave and fridge- this is against the regulations (you can only have one or the other technically) because of the power consumption, but people do it all the time- just make sure you hide the microwave during room inspection (they'll give you a notice of when they're doing room inspection and they are not allowed to check closets or rummage through your materials- they can only cite for things they can see in the open so its not terribly hard to hide). Or you can just buy a fridge and use the building's microwave. Hmm TVs... bring your own or buy a tuner, and bring a cable to attach to the cable outlet.

the buildings have microwaves? is it on each floor? like the the lounge or something? and how often do they have these room inspections?

yeah it doesnt make sense for them to ban standalone microwaves when they allow microfridges. cough scam cough. a microwave is a microwave...whether its separate or attatched to a fridge makes no difference. they should just post up the size/wattage req's for microwaves and let people bring their own.

sort of related question...if we live in a plaza and we have an "illegal" microwave, coffee maker, etc., will the bathroom cleaning crews report it if they see it?

for that cable to attach the tv to the outlet, where could i get this cable?

any electronics store should have it...ie Frys, Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack, etc. even hardware stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Orchard Supply should have them too.

i heard that if you wanted a microfridge, you had to rent it from the school, is that true???

They inspect rooms once a quarter. They spend no more than 5 seconds in the room- they glance around to see for any blantant violations and then leave so as long as nothing illegal is out in the open, youre fine.

There's 1 microwave per building, usually by the vending machines on the first floor.

The bathroom cleaners could care less about what you have so no need to hide your stuff when they come around once a week.

If you're going to use a separate microwave and fridge, theres a possibility of a circuit overload so maybe unplug the fridge when you use your microwave (although I've never heard of this happening before, but hte possibility is still there which is why they have that rule)

braindead- no you can purchase your own, just google microfridge. Its like those stupid bedsheet ads that are sent to you- dont let them price gouge you!!!
