Missed Priority Funding Deadline

Yes, I talked to her and she said she wrote about being a middle class family and mostly just about our financial situation. She also wrote about some of my accomplishments and how they were part of the reason why I deserved the money, even though we all know I made a mistake.

Just got my financial award letter on Sunday! Got about $18,000 in grants plus loans and work study! Pretty close to the original estimate I received in March!

Thank you so much californiaxo! I just told my mom, and we’ll be working on the letter tomorrow. Congrats on getting your finaid, btw. Wish me, and all of us other poor souls, luck!

If you have any more questions, Blazeslayer, let me know! Feel free to PM me!

Good luck to everyone, just don’t give up!

Honestly, don’t stress. I missed my deadline too. Just try to get the documents in ASAP.

YOU WILL STILL GET MOST OF THE MONEY you were to receive. It will come in the form of either a Cal Grant or the Pell Grant, which are unaffected by the deadline.

Missing the deadline means that you may miss a few grand in funding, the UCSD grants are usually around 1-2 grand and the SOEG grant is anywhere from 1000-4k. From personal experience, the max is usually not awarded. The amount awarded will depend on how much of the funds are left. Also, depending on your family’s income level, you can still qualify for Subsidized Stafford loans.

Good Luck.

My dad wrote an appeal in mid May also but I haven’t gotten a reply yet. The only change is the status changing from, “Your application is complete” to “You have further stuff to do” even though I didn’t have anything else to do so I emailed them and then I got changed to “We are determining your rewards”

Wish all of us luck. Thank god hitoyzx told me Cal Grant isn’t affected because That’s the biggest part of my grants.

It’s a good thing Cal Grant’s not affected! But hitoyzx, my UCSD grant is over 11 grand! So I’m not sure how accurate that estimate is!
