what do you do if you just didn't know that you had an exam and that was why you missed it?i would have taken it otherwise but i know very irresponsible but i was focusing on my other two harder classes and disregarded this one, it's not like the professor reminded us at all that there was an exam or anything.

Honestly, doesn’t look very good. Your best bet is to go beg the professor, apologize, and explain that you forgot… but depending on class policies, you may just be out of luck.

Go get a calendar. Go through all of your syllabuses and write on the calendar when all your exams are and major papers are due. There really is no excuse. You are in college now and it is up to you to track those things.

Talk to the professor. If you’re lucky there may be some sort of policy in place that will allow you to somehow salvage the grade. And if not, withdraw from the class and make sure it never happens again.

As others have suggested you have a couple of options:

Speak with professor and see if there is anything that can be done. Maybe you could possibly make up the exam or do something for extra credit. Now this all depends all the professor policy and would be very generous for doing so.

Withdraw from the class if this missed exam will cause you to fail.

To keep myself organized I created a spreadsheet with all the due dates of assignments and the dates of exams. I then checked things off as I completed them. This really helped me stay on track.
