Hey, I'm an international student going to a small LAC (~2,200 enrollment). Due to delays in my visa processing, I will be missing orientation and Frosh week and arriving just in time for classes. I'm pretty bummed out because I usually don't make friends quickly, and for this reason I was looking forward to frosh week since it would make everything much easier. I'm worried that by the time I get there, most people will already have formed their circles or whatever and it's gonna be pretty awkward for a while coz everyone else will know people there by then but i'll arrive not knowing anyone :|

I was just wondering if anyone else had dealt with something like this and if ya'll had any tips to get through the first couple of days.

You really shouldn't sweat it. It's not like you can help being late. People definitely would not have formed their circle of friends yet. They may have formed a circle of acquaintances but people still mix and mingle with other people at least until January etc, when you start to see the same people hanging together. So don't worry about the social aspect at all. Don't hold yourself back because you think that you are behind. You're not.
